    Description

Offered is a complete vintage boat package. The boat is a 15 ft Whitehouse. Whitehouse was a manufacturer of early fiberglass boats, in operation from approx 1955 to 1961, out of Fort Worth, Texas. Boat is completely original and in good condition, no cracks, no repairs, original windshield is good. Motor is a 1958 Evinrude 35 Lark, electric start, electric choke. Trailer is the original Mastercraft trailer. Now the nitty gritty - I purchased this package 2 years ago at the estate auction of the owner (deceased). He purchased the boat from the original owner in 1961. I have that paperwork. The boat was used on a nearby lake until 1970, when it was put away. When I bought the boat, it had been in indoor storage for 49 years. I determined the reason for the boat being put away was a bad lower unit. Motor had good compression so I took on the challenge. Lower unit was rebuilt, one new gear, dog clutch, bearings, seals. Water pump impeller. New coils, plugs, points, condenser, wires. Carborator rebuild, new fuel lines. Overall cleaning. Purchased two fuel tanks, one is a very recent restoration of a correct tank, has new fuel line/bulb, works good. The other is also period correct, tank is good but the fuel line/bulb needs to be replaced. New battery and new battery box. Boat came to me with no key and I could not find a working replacement so I bought an aftermarket switch assembly. It works but I didn't wire up the electric choke feature. The electric choke was tested and worked, so it would work if the wiring was completed. The bow and telescoping stern lights are original as is the horn. Chrome on them shows some pitting but not bad. They do not work. They need to be rewired. Also, I would replace the throttle cable and the shift cable as they are original and, although they work, they stick. Regarding the trailer - new tires, including the spare, repacked wheel bearings, new dust caps, new safety chains, new winch cable. Lights work. Also includes original? paddle. Regarding paperwork - the boat came to me with no registration for both the boat and the trailer. I registered the trailer last year, had to have it weighed and it is now considered a "homemade" trailer, as per the registration. I have not registered the boat. I did launch the boat early fall of last year (see photo) for a few test runs. Motor runs strong, could use some additional carburetor adjusting. The color of the boat is (I would say) a raspberry red. The surface has become oxidized/stained some. A light sanding with 1000 grit paper and a follow-up waxing should restore the original color. An original package, rare and unique. I am selling the boat because I have recently purchased another boat. I also would like to thank the Antique Outboard Motor Club for all the help they provided me. Boat is located in Eaton, NY, about 40 miles SE of Syracuse. Boat is also for sale locally.
