If you’re wondering why your saw cuts so crooked it’s Not the chain, it’s lack of bar maintenance. Don’t neglect the most expensive part on your saw, the bar.
Our bar rail tool is a Silvey upgrade 100% nuts to guts stainless steel,
No expense was spared to bring a quality product to the chainsaw community, this is not some cheap China crap you don't want. The stainless makes this tool work better since it requires a rust free environment to make precise settings. These are made by a timber feller for timber fellers in Portland Oregon, USA.
Make your bars last 4 times longer! Save yourself hundreds of dollars in bar expense.
Its hard to find a saw shop that does any bar work these days at any price but bars must be maintained if you expect to make a straight cut. Our tool is absolutely imperative unless you have endless money to replace with new bars all the time.
If you do any serious amount of chainsaw work you know bars get out of shape very quickly. This tool is designed to close the rails of your chainsaw bar back to their original gauge for the chain your using.
Chainsaw bars are a high wear item, the metal chain rides on a metal rail, metal on metal wears quickly, even when you add oil your bar still wears heavily and the grove gets wider causing the chain to wander making the saw cut crooked as the chain is wobbling between the rails, this tool will quickly close that gap to factory specs. We recommend each time you true the rails use this tool to bring the gap back in specs.
If you want to cut straight you need to keep your bar rails even and closed to the proper gauge, they get out of shape regularly, We recommend you true the rails on your bar at every 10 hours of operation, the longer the bar the more you can't neglect this task. Once your rails are true you can then bend them back to the correct gape with this tool. Even if you don't grind the rail you still need to bring your rails back to specs on a regular basis.
No timber feller would be without this tool
, I never leave home without one in my bag, I've personally used this tool for many many years and saved thousands of dollars in bar bills.
    PLEASE BE AWARE!
It's very easy to pinch the rail too much and must be used sparingly until you get the correct feel.
If you pinch the rails to much the rails can be widened back out as needed with a bar wrench in the field. Even if you go lightly you may need to tap a couple spots with your bar wrench to widen it back out, if you widen it out to much just run this tool back down the rails, its simple to use just don't get aggressive with the clamp. You can run it up and down the bar with all the force you want but don't clamp it too much, just a little at a time, bring it in shape a little at a time.
Use it on an old bar to get the feel and set it up, clean off the paint and break it in, once you have it dialed in you'll wonder how you survived without it, no BS guys this is a must own product.
This simple tool will keep your cuts straight and true and make your bars last 4 times longer, it'll pay for itself the first time you use it.
